The complete solution consists of one or more Hue lights, the Hue Bridge to connect all the lights to your LAN or Wi-Fi, and a controlling "Sync" app or device. So first you'll need the Bridge (https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/philips-hue-bridge-lighting-accessories-5628454). Note you can sometimes find bundles that make the light and bridge set cheaper, such as Philips Hue Play Gradient incl. Bridge (Multicoloured, 90.50 cm, Indoor) This will make your lights controllable from apps and devices on your local network. You can then configure an Entertainment Area that defines where the lights are located around the screen. This is done through the Hue app for smartphone (Android or iPhone, app is free). Color synchronization of the Entertainment Area can then be controlled from one of these Hue Sync products: - Hue Sync desktop app for Windows or Mac (free) - Hue Sync TV app (for Samsung 2022 and newer QLED TVs, Q60 range or higher) (extra monthly subscription or one-time purchase, unfortunately) - Hue HDMI Sync Box (hardware HDMI sync device) (https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/philips-hue-play-hdmi-sync-box-lighting-accessories-12558884) Some Philips TVs sold between 2021 and 2023 could also control Hue lights through their Ambilight+Hue system, which connects through the Hue Bridge, but they use the standard color control protocol instead of Sync streaming protocol, which is slower and can only set a single color per light. This means the Gradient light would change color but not be controlled as several segments, and doesn't react as fast, making it much less interesting.

Helpful answer

When connecting to the PC, no sync box is required. This is correct. Unfortunately, we do not have any information about the delay. We have therefore forwarded your question to the community. Perhaps this question can be answered by another user.
