How large is the SLC cache on this external Thunderbolt SSD? I can't find any information on this from the manufacturer, but this is quite important when assessing the write speed of a performance SSD. Thanks for the help!

The SanDisk Professional PRO-G40 SSD (4 TB) utilises a dynamic SLC cache, which enables high write speeds of up to 3,700 MB/s. After exceeding the cache (estimated at several hundred GB), the speed drops to around 500-650 MB/s. For exact details, we recommend contacting the manufacturer.

how much power does this SSD draw (watts), or how high is the battery drain on a MacBook? I can't find any information on this in the specifications ...

The manufacturer does not publish data on this subject, but according to a test (https://www.anandtech.com/show...): In Thunderbolt mode, the drive never enters a low-power state, with power consumption peaking at around 7.2W. Idle power consumption is around 2.5W.
