A few years back, I had bought an earlier version of this Player, the Sony UBP-X700 model. Wireless connection to the internet was one of the possibilities for that Player as the software updates were automatic and I did not need to check myself. I had a look at the manual for the newer Sony UBP-X700K model today, but did not find anything about a wireless connection in it; only a connection via cable is mentioned. By looking at the specifications of the new model in the Galaxus webpage, I see a clear "Wi-Fi" under Media player properties -> Functions. This points in the direction of a wireless connection. Therefore, there is a contradiction between what I see in the manual of the new model and the information of the webpage. I wonder whether someone who bought the new model could provide some... enlightenment. Many thanks in any case.

Hello, I've just bought it and I couldn't connect it to Wi-Fi, nothing is specified in the instructions. So I had to fit a cable so that it could have internet. I hope this helps.

Hello, the UBP-X700/K is region coded. This means that it can only play discs from the same region in which the device was purchased. You will find the corresponding region code on the back of the player. The player will only play BD/DVD-VIDEOs that are labelled with identical region codes. So if you buy the device in Europe (region B), only discs from region B can be played. You can find out more about the Blu-ray region codes on our official website. Sony Europe

Hello, Thank you for your question. The UBP-X800 is region coded, i.e. it can only play discs from the region in which it was purchased, in which it was purchased. The region code is printed on the back of the player and it can only play BD/DVD videos with the corresponding region code. So if you buy your player in Europe (region B), it can only play discs from region B. You can find more information on our support page. Sony Europe
