It's really good that Digitec has started to add a lot of details about these docking stations in the description. As it was often not clear how they work exactly. Well, this one uses Displaylink technology, NOT USB-C DP-Alt mode and NOT Thunderbolt. So it has a USB graphics card built in, which should be running at 60Hz, due to limitations. In the Targus download section you can see the drivers. And it is this chip: https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/integrated-chipsets/dl-6000

According to the manufacturer, only a resolution of up to 4096 x 2160 is supported via HDMI and DisplayPort. You can find more information on the following link: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0011/9229/6515/files/DOCK180EUZ-52_D-Online_UG_030420.pdf?v=1583320609

With the help of Targus support I was able to solve the problem: I had to perform step 4 of the following instructions: https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1932214-displaylink-manager-app-for-macos-introduction-in It is a pity that this is not clearly stated in the user guide for the product.

The docking station is compatible with TB4, but it does not use TB4 technology except for the charging function. Drivers must be installed for the display connections.
