I assume that they are active speakers - therefore the preamplifier is sufficient. However, the AUX input there requires an additional preamplifier for the record player (approx. Fr. 100.- for good quality devices).

It depends on the quality of the "old" Yamaha amplifier. If it's a really high-quality device, you might get further with it than with the WXA-50. Difficult to say without knowing more details.

Bluetooth connection is no problem. You have to use the musiccast app (iOS or Android). PC: there is a USB port and this should be possible. Inputs: there is only one set of cinch (analogue) inputs. You will have to choose between the cassette/cd player and the phono. Judging by the presence of a preamplifier on your turntable, it should be possible to connect the latter, but this needs to be checked. Cd: ideally you should have an optical output on your player to use the optical input of the wxc-50, but this does not seem to be the case on your TEAC. The main quality of this device is Multiroom musiccasting and network playback from sites like qobuz or Spotify. It is very musical. As far as active speakers are concerned, the unit is intended for connection to an amp or musiccast active speakers. If you have another brand, it depends on their connections. Instructions for the wxc-50 are easy to find online.

You have chosen a Sony system, so it would certainly be more convenient to expand it with Sony components :-) The WXC-50 is a component of the Yamaha MusicCast system. This requires an app on Android or IOS phone/tablet for maximum benefit. Since I don't know if the N790 has a "preamp input", it may be that the volume must then be set separately on both the Sony system and the Yamaha preamp. Additional wireless speakers from the MusicCast system can then be connected via the app or coupled with the WXC-50 to form a large system.

Refer to chapter 8, page 25 of the German operating instructions, available as a download for your "PIONEER X-CM56D". There you will see that there is a 3.5 mm mini jack "AUDIO IN" on the back of your unit. Connect this jack to the "AUX OUT" jack of your "YAMAHA WXC-50". To do this, you will need a suitable audio cable, stereo jack 3.5 mm to 2xChinch-RCA, available at any Media Markt, Interdiscount or similar. etc. Have fun!

The unit has connections for controlled output - i.e. powered speakers (that's how I have it in the office) and fixed volume for recording or as a sound source for controllable power amplifiers (that's how we have it in the music room). If I understand your plan correctly, the sound from the TV is to be delivered to an INPUT of the WXC-50 and then controlled via the volume control on the unit or the MusicCast app. The plan went.

Yes, wireless with Bluetooth or with a cable via USB (rear). If your iPod is DNLA-compatible, you can also play music from iTunes (PC/laptop) or from an iPhone via a network (router/WiFi) on the unit (wireless) using AirPlay. The WXC-50 can be connected to your stereo system via 'AUX Out' and 'PRE Out' (RCA cable). To control the volume via the MusicCast app with the ipod, the 'Power' switch on the back of the unit must be changed from 'Player' to 'Preamp' (and the stereo system must be connected to 'PRE-Out' of the WXC-50). The MusicCast app allows you to control all MusicCast-enabled Yamaha Multiroom devices. Attached is the link to the WXC-50 user manual (in German, of course). https://de.yamaha.com/files...
