    Pretty much useless

Pretty terrible. Drops the connection once every 4-5 minutes. Meanwhile, two different laptops and a phone have no problems in the same spot (5 meters from the AP through a single interior wall. Also, despite technically supporting 802.11n, it does NOT support the 5GHz spectrum.

    Contra

    • low range
    • drops connections
    • no 5GHz support

Intermittent drops in connection when used on a Linux system (driver issues)

Bought for it's Linux compatibility but there are known issues with the driver embedded within the Linux kernel (rtl8192cu) which causes intermittent drops in connection.

    Pro

    • Easy to install

    Contra

    • Linux driver has issues

    driver installation.

    Pro

    • Simple installation
    • cheap

    Decent wifi reception

Finally I have a usable WiFi connection again from my desktop to the Swisscom Internet Box Standard about 12m (and 2 wooden doors) away. The built-in WiFi adapter had barely seen a signal, but various laptops work even better than the Asus PCE in the same place.

    Not WI-FI compatible 6

It worked fine, but only until I changed my router, which runs on the WI-FI 6 standard, so it no longer recognised my WI-FI :/.
I had to change my WI-FI card.

    Pro

    • Works well

    Contra

    • Not WI-FI compatible 6

Good WLAN-N adapter (proven ASUS quality)

    Pro

    • High speed (for the WLAN-N standard)
    • Worked for years until now (removed it)
    • Also suitable for Windows from XP, and Linux

    Contra

    • In the meantime, there are adapters for AC/AX standard that cost similarly little.
