All previous 2.5" spinning disks had miserable data transfer rates of 25 MB/s. So I'm really surprised at the performance of this LaCie disk.
So I am really surprised about the performance of this LaCie disk. I am attaching the screenshot from BlackMagic Disk Speed. The disc is still formatted in ExFat. I bought the 5 TB version.Pro

LaCie 4TB external hard drive
I need the hard drive as a TimeMachine for my MacBook Pro. At first there were problems. The hard drive was erased and was no longer accessible. Apple's hard drive utility saved me. I was able to format the hard drive and then convert it into a Time Machine using the MacBook's system programme. The backups work perfectly. In the meantime, I even had to restore a file to an earlier version, which went without a hitch. I now also back up my iPhone and iPad to the MacBook and then have these backups on the LaCie hard drive (TimeMachine) too
