I have now installed this SSD in my current MacBook Pro (mid-2012) and can only say: Hammer mega giga super top-notch!!!!
No, really, this SSD is a must for every current MacBook Pro. It just runs, has the lowest failure
rates, super write and read values and a stunning build quality. I can recommend this thing to any notebook owner, especially Macians.
(You can make do with the bulk version, though. I only bought the desktop kit for one reason: It was cheaper than the notebook & bulk version. But you really only need the SSD as such for the installation, the rest is already there. :))

I have tested other brands, but I am very satisfied with Samsung 830.

All benchmark tools show similar values,
    350 MB/s read, 220 MB/s write.

PC Desktop i7, SATA 3. Windows 8 starts in 13 seconds.

It's definitely worth buying, although SSDs are usually...

The purchase is definitely worth it, even though SSDs are overpriced. Win8 (with all programmes) takes me just under 30 seconds to start. Previously, with a Spinpoint 2TB from Smasung, it took almost 3 minutes. Most of this is due to bios tests during the boot process. Almost 70 Fr. more just for the 3.5 " to 2.5" adapter (an aluminium disk) is a rip-off. You might consider buying the basic version and getting an adapter elsewhere. The hard disk itself is the hammer par excellence. No more operating system without an SSD. For im in any case! Attention: Use ONLY AHCI mode in the bios and use SATA 6GB/S (mostly white connector)!!! Do not run with IDE!

    super ssd, and super price

for all SSD newbies. if you clone from the existing system, make sure to deactivate the automatic defragmentation under win7. this is only automatically deactivated when you reinstall on the
    ssd, but not when cloning...

    greetings

I installed this hard drive in 2011 MacBook Pro i7 and I am thrilled. It is incredibly fast and worth every penny.
Note: If you install this in a notebook, you don't need the 3.5" mounting bracket. Maybe you can buy the
SSD only, without the mounting bracket, even cheaper.

I have already equipped my MacBook Pro with this SSD (b...

I have already upgraded my MacBook Pro with this SSD (bulk version) and am fully satisfied.

So I recommended this SSD to a friend who owns a Mac Pro (for the stupid: MacBook Pro is not the same as a Mac Pro). He bought
    the desktop kit:

The SSD is great, but THE DESKTOP KIT IS A TOTAL SHIT!
The adapter, which is really just a cheap bent sheet of metal, aligns the SSD and thus the connector centrally.
However, every normal 3.5 inch drive has its SATA connector on the outside left of the back, as seen from below, and especially on the underside, four screw holes to screw it on lying down or hanging (like on the Mac Pro).

The stupid Ramen, however, only offers holes on the side!!!

To all Mac Pro users: DO NOT BUY! Go for the bulk version and buy an adapter that does something! I also don't believe that there are no Windows PCs with a hard disk slot...
