Satechi Bluetooth Media Button

It works, but it only looks premium in advertising pictures and its price tag. The actual remote looks more like a 10.- chinese remote.
The top plastic piece feels very thin and fragile, and isn't properly cut or molded to fit in its aluminum ring, giving it a very cheap finish. At first glance I thought it was a refurbished one that someone tried to open by poking all around the top rim with a screwdriver.
The bottom of the remote isn't much better, with a screw to close the battery cover that is just sticking out, so it doesn't lay flat on a table or other surface.
The user experience is also a failure, while the circular design could be nice, its flat surface and the lack of any tactile bump makes it very hard to know where you're pressing without looking at it and in the dark if it isn't attached to something else in a fixed orientation.

The Media Button pairs easily with my eReader (model: PocketBook Era) via Bluetooth, allowing me to browse with a very compact remote control.
However, the workmanship of the Media Button should be much better, especially at this price. The buttons feel a little soft and are difficult to operate blindly due to the lack of tactile protrusions. For its intended purpose as a media remote in the vehicle and for use in the dark, this is a significant disadvantage. I have fitted the supplied lanyard and so at least I know where the top of the device is located.

- should not cost more than 20 Stutz
- value & haptic does not match the current price
- controls the music app of my MacBook Air as desired, incl. volume control - PERFECT
- finally in the home office control my own music from the comfort of my desk (without even looking).
- no fixed Lion battery, imho super, because so it is not a throwaway product from the start. I prefer to dispose of batteries properly or replaceable batteries and also I feel safe (keyword fire hazard of old Lion batteries).
5 stars I would give if it was either qualitatively better processed or significantly cheaper.

Just experienced: When carefully unscrewing the mini screw of the battery compartment, the microscopically small and thin tab of the battery compartment cover broke off. Cover can no longer be screwed on, battery falls out = total damage!

The perfect complement to my Bluetooth FM radio adapter. Remote reconnects quickly after pressing a button when you come back to the car.
Only the steering wheel mount bothers me when steering, so mine was glued to the steering wheel, normal double-sided tape can also be used for this, but is supplied. (Attention, when removing the battery compartment can fall out despite the screw).
