Functioning under Windows as ordered, on the Mac the more extensive software for the capture, but unfortunately no update for 2 years. In any case, the audio capture no longer works under OS 10.11.1. It's a shame, because it's actually good value for money with all the inputs it needs for a conversion. Hardware ok, software on WIN ok, software on MAC unfortunately not usable. Hope for an update, as I don't always want to switch between Parallels and MAC OS.

I bought the Terratec G3 Box because I wanted to back up my old VHS videos. The decisive factors for my purchase decision were the robust housing and the numerous connection options. In practice, the Scart connection option is actually an enormous relief.
Under Windows 8.1, the box is recognised immediately. I did not use the drivers from the CD supplied, but downloaded the latest ones from the Terratec website. The installation went without a hitch. The box is also recognised by common video programmes, so you don't have to use the Magix software that comes with it.
A few years ago I had an ATI graphics card in the so-called VIVO (video in / video out) version. At that time I had already saved a few videos on the PC. In comparison, the recordings made with the Terratec G3 are much better. Above all, the colours are richer and the resolution is much higher. There are also no more streaks during fast movements.

A bare bones package, skimpy documentation. Had trouble getting it up and running. Asked for support, still waiting for an answer. Also difficult to find online help from other users. I would only recommend this product to someone with experience and good trouble-shooting skills.

Bought the product for my father-in-law, who has a huge amount of old VHS tapes. He gets on well with it. Since practically all the different plugs are supported, connecting was no problem. The only problem was that the sound didn't come through via Scart. Since all the cables are included, this was also solvable.
Operating system used: Windows 7. Dubbing is almost (!) self-explanatory and the software supplied can do everything you need for simple editing (cutting, transitions, inserting titles/subtitles, adding sound). It's best to try it out on a short sequence (about 5 minutes long). Select maximum quality (so it remains - it doesn't really get better). The whole thing simply takes a *very* long time. Both the recording (of course) but also the creation of the video file.

Totally unusable. Software contains malware!!! If I could I would rate this junk with ZERO stars! Driver does not work with Windows 10 (driver crash!)
