For connecting an ultrabook, notebook, laptop, or PC to a monitor, TV, projector, or beam projector. DisplayPort is a universal connection standard for transmitting video and audio signals. Its main applications include connecting monitors and televisions to computers, Blu-ray players, and similar devices.

The connection takes up less space and is therefore better suited for portable display devices (ultrabooks, notebooks, laptops) or for two connections on a graphics card (on a slot plate). The practical plug design prevents the cable from being pulled out of the DisplayPort socket.
