The 2-Port ExpressCard USB 3.0 Card ECUSB3S22 adds two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports to an ExpressCard-capable computer system. It uses a 34mm form factor that fits both 34mm and 54mm slots. The ports are arranged side by side to allow for easy access. With support for UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.0 controller is up to 70% faster than traditional USB 3.0 when used with a UASP-capable enclosure (Note: A compatible operating system is required for UASP). UASP technology optimizes transfers with a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport) by allowing multiple commands to be processed simultaneously, significantly increasing transfer speeds and reducing wait times during data transfers. USB 3.0 supports data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s (10x faster than USB 2.0) and provides more power per port for faster and more powerful devices. Additionally, this ExpressCard adapter is backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.x, ensuring all existing devices continue to function. It comes with a 2-year StarTech.com warranty and lifetime free technical support. Enhanced performance with UASP. UASP is supported on Windows 8, Server 2012, and Linux Kernel 2.6.3 or higher. In tests, UASP showed up to 70% higher read speeds and 40% higher write speeds compared to traditional USB 3.0 at peak performance. At the same peak, UASP also demonstrated an 80% reduction in processor resource usage during testing. Test results were obtained using an Intel Ivy Bridge system, StarTech.com USB 3.0 add-in cards, a UASP-capable StarTech.com enclosure, and a SATA III Solid State Drive.
