Product details

The TL-FC311A-20 is a Gigabit media converter with a Gigabit RJ-45 port and a Gigabit SC fibre port that can convert between electrical and optical signals. Long distance data transmission over fibre optics can be applied to commercial scenarios such as parking security monitoring and wireless networks.

The TL-FC311A-20 uses Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, which allows data to be sent and received at a distance of up to 20 km with just one single-mode fibre. This saves customers half the cost of cable provisioning. The TL-FC311A-20 transmits data at a wavelength of 1550 nm and receives data at a wavelength of 1310 nm on one optical fibre. Therefore, the end device used in conjunction with the TL-FC311A-2 should transmit data at a wavelength of 1310 nm and receive data at a wavelength of 1550 nm.

TP-Link offers another media converter, the TL-FC311B-20, which can work together with the TL-FC311A-20. In addition, this media converter can be used as a standalone device (no rack required) or with TP-Link's TL-FC1420 rack for Auto-MDI/MDI-X in the TX port where the duplex mode is automatically negotiated.
