Datacenter hard drive. 3.5" hard drive, 8 TB, SATA III (6 Gb/s). 7200 rpm, sector size: 512e, 256 MB cache buffer. Excellent random and sequential performance. Suitable for RAID arrays, distributed file systems, direct and network storage. Secure Erase (SE). The Ultrastar DC HC320, formerly known as Ultrastar 7K8, is part of the Midcapacity DC HC300 series and is designed for traditional storage and server applications as well as distributed and scalable computing applications that require fast performance of 7200 RPM. The Ultrastar DC HC320 is available with either a 6 Gb/s SATA or a 12 Gb/s SAS interface in a choice of 512e or 4Kn formats. Secure Erase. This drive features an integrated, cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator. When using Secure Erase, the drive overwrites the entire surface of the hard drive, including areas not accessible to users.
