Best selling 3D printer filaments from Ultimaker

This page always stays fresh and updates automatically.

1. Ultimaker Filament (Polycarbonate)

With the Ultimaker PC (Polycarbonate) filament, strong and durable parts can be created that remain shape-stable even at temperatures of 110 °C. The filament is particularly suitable for manufacturing tools, functional prototypes, and small batch parts. The concurrently released Cura version provides useful material profiles, allowing complex models to be printed easily and reliably.

2. Ultimaker PET CF Blau 2.85 mm 750 g

3. Ultimaker Filament

The Ultimaker ABS filament is considered one of the most user-friendly materials on the filament market. In particular, owners of Ultimaker 3D printers enjoy the benefits of maximum compatibility. The material has been specifically developed for their own devices. The simultaneously released Cura version provides meaningful material profiles. With these, even complicated mechanical components can be produced with ease.

4. Ultimaker Pva

The new Ultimaker PVA material is a water-soluble filament specifically designed as support material for the Ultimaker 3. PVA is used exclusively as support material, which completely disappears after the printing process once it has spent some time in a water bath. Consequently, the filament can only be used with dual extruder FDM printers. The great advantage of PVA is that a designer does not have to consider geometric limitations when creating a 3D model. The material works excellently with Ultimaker PLA and nylon filaments. In Cura, there are specific material profiles for these combinations. In our opinion, the Ultimaker 3 is currently the best option in desktop FDM printing for producing highly complex 3D models.

5. Ultimaker Tough PLA Grey 2.85 mm 750 g

Ultimaker Tough PLA is a technical PLA (polylactic acid) material with a toughness similar to ABS. It is ideal for printing functional prototypes and tools in larger formats—without the risk of warping or delamination. Ultimaker Tough PLA allows for the same safe and easy use as regular PLA.

Ultimaker Tough PLA filament is designed to be an easy-to-use technical plastic:
- Better machinability than PLA allows for more post-processing techniques
- Similar strength and higher stiffness compared to ABS
- No delamination or warping for reliable printing of larger parts
- Compatible with PVA and breakaway support materials for full geometric freedom

Create robust plastic parts. The impact resistance of Tough PLA is closer to ABS than to regular PLA. This means that your 3D-printed parts can be used for more functional applications such as fixtures, manufacturing aids, and tools.

Optimized for large prints. If you need toughness for large models, Tough PLA is an easy-to-print and reliable material—ideal for 3D printing with the larger build volume of the Ultimaker S5.

Realize complex geometries. Designs with intricate curves, fine details, and overhangs can be easily printed with Tough PLA, especially in combination with breakaway or water-soluble PVA support material.

6. Ultimaker CPE+ filaments

CPE+ is resistant to chemicals and temperature, as well as robust, and exhibits good shape stability. CPE+ has higher temperature resistance and impact toughness compared to regular CPE. The material is ideal for printing functional prototypes and mechanical parts.

7. Ultimaker Tough PLA Yellow 2.85 mm 750 g

Ultimaker Tough PLA is a technical PLA material (polylactic acid) with toughness similar to ABS. It is ideally suited for printing functional prototypes and tools in larger formats—without the risk of warping or delamination.

- No delamination or deformation for reliable printing of larger parts
- Compatible with PVA and breakaway support materials for full geometric freedom
- Create robust plastic parts

The impact resistance of Tough PLA is closer to ABS than to regular PLA. This means that your 3D-printed parts can be used for more functional applications such as fixtures, manufacturing aids, and tools.

Optimized for large prints: When you need toughness for large models, Tough PLA is an easy-to-print and reliable material—ideal for 3D printing with the larger build volume of the Ultimaker S5.

Realize complex geometries: Designs with intricate curves, fine details, and overhangs can be easily printed with Tough PLA, especially in combination with breakaway or water-soluble PVA support material.

8. Ultimaker PETG - Silver - 2.85mm

Ultimaker PETG in silver is a high-quality 3D printing material specifically designed for industrial use. With a diameter of 2.85 mm, this filament offers excellent printability and is ideal for a wide range of applications, from prototypes to functional parts. The combination of toughness, chemical resistance, and temperature resistance makes it a versatile choice for companies seeking reliable and durable printing solutions. Ultimaker PETG is characterized by excellent adhesion and stable layer bonding, which facilitates processing and improves print quality. Thanks to NFC recognition and the provided print profiles, both beginners and experienced users can quickly and efficiently start 3D printing and achieve optimal results. This filament offers the printability of PLA, combined with the industrial properties required for demanding applications.

- High toughness and chemical resistance
- Excellent adhesion and stable layer bonding
- Compatible with PVA and Breakaway materials
- NFC recognition for easy handling
- Versatile for technical applications and prototypes.

9. Ultimaker Cpe

CPE (copolyester) materials are chemical resistant, tough and demonstrate good dimensional stability. It is a preferred choice for both functional prototypes and mechanical parts. While both CPE and CPE+ provide similar performance characteristics, CPE+ provides the added benefit of higher temperature resistance and increased impact strength.

10. Ultimaker Pla

The Ultimaker PLA filament is made from biodegradable raw materials. Additionally, the material, specifically developed for Ultimaker devices, is easy and reliable to print. Ultimaker released a new version of Cura alongside the launch of the filament, which provides custom material profiles for various requirements. The Ultimaker PLA can also be easily processed by other FDM printers. Furthermore, the PLA filament works perfectly with Ultimaker PVA material. PVA is a water-soluble support material that can be completely removed after printing in a water bath. This combination allows you to design and print your 3D model without geometric limitations.
