The Alphacool Eisblock HDX-3 water block offers outstanding cooling for your M.2 SSD. Continuous, substantial data transfer can dramatically lower the performance of an M.2 SSD without cooling, potentially reducing performance to as little as 10% of its actual capability. Transferring large amounts of data heats up the memory controller and chips until a safety mechanism activates, severely throttling the SSD’s performance. This issue can be mitigated by actively cooling the SSD. After developing the HDX M.2 water block for motherboards with M.2 slots and the passively-cooled HDX-2 PCIe water block, Alphacool has advanced further with the Eisblock HDX-3 to provide a water cooling solution to this problem.
The M.2 SSD is secured onto a PCIe card and then mounted onto the water block. The water block is constructed from nickel-plated copper with a screwed-on acetal lid. Water flows over the entire SSD within the block, ensuring optimal heat transfer away from the M.2 SSD. Using G1/4” connectors, the water block can be connected to any standard water cooling loop.
The PCIe card is inserted into a 4xPCIe slot and secured to the case. It allows data to be transferred at speeds of up to 3900 MB/s, which is significantly faster than most SSDs can utilize. This represents a 600% improvement over conventional 2.5” SATA-SSDs, whose maximum bandwidth is 640 MB/s. Even compared to motherboard slots, the plug-in card combined with the water block offers substantially higher transfer rates. M.2 SSDs on motherboards are often connected to a 2xPCIe slot, which halves the maximum data transfer rate. Additionally, it is challenging to adequately cool an M.2 SSD on a motherboard, as the graphics card is typically mounted directly above or below it, generating significant heat in the surrounding area.

The EK-RAM Monarch is a cooling solution for Corsair's Dominator and Dominator GT series memory modules, designed to cool the RAM with water. To install it, the existing heatsink on the RAM modules must be removed and replaced with the EK-RAM Monarch modules. A EK-RAM Monarch cooler can then be screwed onto the threaded fittings on the EK-RAM Monarch modules, enabling water cooling for the memory modules.

8. EKWB EK-RAM Monarch modules
With the various versions of the EK-RAM Monarch, EK Water Blocks has a cooler series in its range that can be used to provide excellent water cooling for Corsair's Dominator series of storage bars.
For this purpose, however, it is necessary to unscrew the attachment on the RAM modules to give way to the water coolers. Then the heat of the Corsair DIMMs is transferred directly to the Water Blocks via their rear edge.
In addition, the original heatsinks surrounding the Dominator bars transfer heat from the PCB to the top-mounted EK cooler. As good as this system works with the Corsair memory, it was unfortunate in the past that other manufacturers' DIMMs could not be cooled by EK WB.
With this additional kit from EK Water Blocks, this is finally possible. A total of four black plates made of anodized aluminum are included in the delivery, two of which each include a RAM bar. They have threads at the top so that an EK RAM Monarch cooler can be screwed on.
In total, two DIMMs per kit can be equipped, whereby all common DDR2/3 modules are supported, which are equipped with memory chips on both sides (double-sided). For latches in single-sided design, thicker thermal pads (1.5 mm) would have to be used than those included in the scope of delivery.
Note: To use the adapter boards, any original heat sinks that may be present must be removed from the RAM latch to be cooled, which will result in the loss of the manufacturer's warranty.
