Question about Arlo Essential Solar Charger
A question.... Does the camera always charge as soon as there is light on the solar panel, so is it enough to charge once at home and from there to the solar panel? Or how exactly does charging with solar work?

It charges, but much more in summer. In winter I have to recharge with cable after 2 months at the latest, but there is an alarm when the charge level drops. This summer it lasted about 6 months with the solar panel ... Without the panel, however, I have to recharge every 2 months, so it's definitely worth it ;-)
You need to put the solar panel close to the camera (I put them on a mast) and leave it plugged in all the time.
Note that while solar panels usually work very well at low temperatures, this is not the case for the batteries: the Arlo camera refuses to charge at sub-zero temperatures. So it's not made for the mountains...
