I wouldn't rely on it! I bought a similar Seagate with a USB hub for my PS4 Pro and it reported that this device was NOT compatible because a USB hub was detected. It completely refuses to work with drives that have a USB hub. I then bought a WD Black without a hub, which worked. However, this was not a problem with the XBOX. Several external HDDs also work for games, whereas only one can be used for games on the PS4. Unfortunately, I can't make any precise statements about the PS5...
