Are the HDDs displayed individually to the connected PC, or as if it were one large external hard disk?

Helpful answer

There is also a version with a RAID controller, where a RAID can be configured and displayed as "1 hard disk" or disk storage. (Unfortunately, I also got this version and hope to spare you the same fate with this answer ;-) )
