Are these 3 HDD cages in the front and 2 HDD + 2 SSD in the rear?

Exactly. You can install up to 3 HDDs in the 'main part' and 2 HDD/SSD in the 'power supply compartment'. Additionally, you can install 2 SSDs (1 possibility in the front, 2 in the back).
