Can I also connect all 3 Decos directly to the LAN (wall socket) in different rooms, or can only 1 unit be configured as the master? If several units are wired directly to the LAN, does this provide additional stability and/or throughput, or is it rather unnecessary?

You can use Ethernet cables to use a third so-called backhaul channel. However, this is usually not necessary if the individual Deco units can be placed well and overlap a little. By the way, you can always expand the Deco system or add other Deco systems, e.g. the Deco X20, which can also use WiFi6.
