Can I also use the hotspot from my smartphone instead of a sim? And thus bring devices on the construction site online via Lan cable?

The device connects to the internet via WLAN, LAN or SIM card and then sets up its own WLAN to which other devices can connect. So it should work that the device uses the hotspot of the smartphone, but it probably won't work that other devices then connect via LAN - but I haven't tried that yet.
