Can I use the 250 Ohm version of the DT 990 Pro with this mainboard? The internet says that it has a Realtek ALC4080 with up to 600 Ohm. How far can I trust this ? or should I rather buy a sound card or an amp ?

Helpful answer
The mainboard features the Realtek ALC4080 audio codec, which, according to the manufacturer, can support headphones with impedances of up to 600 ohms. This means that the 250 Ohm version of the DT 990 Pro should be able to be operated.

However, the actual sound quality and volume also depend on the output power of the onboard amplifier. For optimum sound quality and sufficient volume with 250-ohm headphones, it may make sense to use an additional dedicated sound card or headphone amplifier (amp), especially if you have high demands on the sound.

In short: You can use the DT 990 Pro 250 Ohm with the mainboard, but for the best possible performance a separate amp or sound card is recommended.
