If you don't want to use a controller like the Hue +, I recommend the Bitfenix Alchemy 2.0, but if you have a different controller, these strips should be compatible.
Only the extensions themselves you can't use as far as I know, because there is no cable included to connect them to a power supply and because the LED colour is controlled by the controller.
