Can these cameras also be used to record permanently (24 hours) and switch off motion detection plus the floodlight? Can I connect a hard disc to the Home Base? I would like to monitor an area for a maximum of 24 hours at a time, but no lights should be switched on at night as the camera would then be useless during the day.

No, in my experience the system does not support continuous recording. The concept here is wireless, i.e. with battery operation. Therefore, recording is only based on movement. This would lead to an empty battery too quickly with continuous recording. A hard disc cannot be connected either, only SD cards are supported as storage media in the Homebase.
