Yes you can. I got myself a Ryzen 5950X and this Gigabyte B550I motherboard. You simply have to update the old bios firmware to the latest firmware via a USB stick using the q-flash plus button. This only takes a few minutes and it is already compatible with the latest Ryzen 5000 series. This all works without having to own an old Ryzen processor.

The idea of the B550 chipset on this motherboard is that it should be future-proof or for the next few years.... I.e. is compatible with AMD 5000ers such as: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (AM4, 3.80GHz, 8-Core)
