Yes, it works, but I generally advise against 2 bay NAS, because you lose half of the storage capacity in a mirrored RAID1 and in case of a disk exchange or failure you would have to buy another expensive large disk. Also, the DS220+ only has an older Intel Dual Core processor.

I recommend this model, it has 4 GB RAM, a much faster Quad Core AMD Ryzen R1600 CPU and equipped with 4 x 4 TB disks, even 12 TB of data would be possible and that too with additional hardware failure protection via RAID 5. And 4 TB disks are also much quieter in operation than 10 TB disks.

Synology DS923+ (0 TB)

A DS420+ would also be ok if it had to be a NAS with Intel CPU, the NAS has a Quad Core Intel CPU.

According to the data sheet, yes. The only limit that exists is then only for the volume, which is even 108 TB.
