Question about StarTech Adapter USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III

Does anyone have experience with operating on a console and simultaneous WiFi connection? With my current adapter, the download rate drops dramatically. Apparently, the USB 3 cable must be specially protected from radiation because it generates similar frequencies to WiFi; if you don't believe it, try Google.

Not on the console, but I am almost certain that this would be too slow. I noticed that this adapter is not designed for high data rates. Per USB 3 with approx. 10MB/s, that's all I achieved. Because of the integrated USB power supply, it probably only runs on USB 2. The adapters with a separate power supply are better.
