Per the other answers; the dash cam does not have an internal battery - Garmin have a kit available to connect to a car's fuse box, or you could perhaps use an always on socket (such as the OBD socket).

The Garmin Dash Cam Mini, Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2, and the Garmin Dash Cam Tandem do not have an internal battery. Instead, they have a super-capacitor that gives sufficient time for the Garmin Dash Cam to properly power down when external power is removed from the device.
