Does the BIOS have to be updated if I wanted to install f.e. a Ryzen 5 5600x / 7600x CPU? Or would it run 5th gen CPU's directly out of the box?

Bios almost always has to be updated so that everything runs optimally. Nevertheless, the PC will also start with the 5600x without a BIOS update. The 7600x is AM5, a different socket. So this mainboard only fits the 5600x and earlier versions. For 7xxx you have to buy AM5 boards. In addition, RAM is different: 5xxx has DDR4, 7xxxx has DDR5.
