The Wi-Fi repeater works primarily to extend the Wi-Fi signal without requiring an RJ45 cable for its main operation. However, it does have a Gigabit Ethernet port so you can connect it to a device via an RJ45 cable for a faster wired connection, for example to a Smart TV or PC.
