Although you seem to have mastered the situation, may I add more detailed information about this problem?
(I wrongly bought the SATA Icy Box for my NVMe-type SSD and it may be useful to share the experience).
This Icy Box IB-183M2 is suitable only for SATA type SSD. It is not compatible with NVMe type SSD, which are nowadays more common. For NVMe type SSD you need Icy Box IB-1817M-C32, with the rippled Aluminium casing.
Both types SSD look the same, as they have the same dimensions (22 x 30, 42, 60 or 80 mm) will mechanically fit into both Icy Boxes.
A closer look at the connections however shows that they are indeed different!
Icy Box SATA: has connection Key-B with 6+5 pins at the small side, and 2x28 pins on the long side.
Icy Box NVMe: has connection Key M with 5+4 pins at the small side and 2x29 pins on the long side.
