AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 (A/CH Version)
AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 (A/CH Version)
Hello Can anyone tell me whether the FB7590 in the A/CH version can be operated directly on an inOne (All-IP) Swisscom connection, simply out-of-the-box, i.e. without me having to install another beta version of the firmware or whatnot. I always read here that there were problems and that you have to contact AVM support, but I want a device that I can just plug in and go, everything else is out of the question for me. Thank you very much!
Are there any new findings here? I am currently using my Fritz.Box 7590 behind a cable modem and am now looking for a new provider. When I return to DSL, I would like to terminate the telephone connection as SIP in the FB and get rid of all additional devices (upstream modem, TV box...).
I am thinking about Wingo, the no-frills Swisscom variant.
Yes, this is possible. You can only use the Fritzbox as a DSL modem. Do you still need instructions on how to configure it?
I cannot confirm this generalisation that "all Fritzboxes have problems with AllIP". I have a complex connection, even with an overhead line, and various Fritzboxes have been running without problems for years. Today, the 7590 a/ch was configured for green.ch in 5 minutes and runs perfectly with the pre-installed firmware v6.83.
Out-of-the-box" operation with Swisscom All IP did not work for me. I wanted to install the FB today - I spent hours trying it out. The DSL connection was interrupted again and again until it finally disappeared completely. I will try the tip with the firmware downgrade in the next few days. I strongly suspect that I am not the only one - so, as a Swisscom customer, I would only advise this FB if you feel like fiddling around.
Hello Modem basically works on all dsl connections from Swisscom, sunrise and co. it can simply be that you can have interruptions despite all this. It depends on the technology that is currently switched on your All-IP connection.
...must still be configured.
The following technologies are available. All-IP with vectoring max 100Mbit or Gfast with 500Mbit. With these technologies, all Fritzboxes basically have problems with the firmware. I see this every day as an SC technician. But why do you need a Fritz? Do you want bridge mode? Or do you want to use another function?
