If you only have a certificate lan cable which cannot provide more data throughput, you only have 1gbit with the port. (downward compatible)
Info: From 5 ports of my router I get with 4
I get 1gigabit on the port of the apex mainboard, but with one of the 5 ports I get 2.5gbit.
