Hello everyone, I have 4 hard drives, two 4 tb hard drives are full and two are empty. If I now want to use a raid to mirror the data from the 2 full disks to the 2 empty disks, is it possible to do this and activate it without having to format the full disks as all the data is on them and they are almost full. If so which raid would be my best option for this product?

Hello
Attention, as Walter has already written.
I think it depends on which system you are running it on... But to make a RAID with 4 disks out of 2 disks is, e.g. on a Synology NAS, not so easy... The NAS recognises it as an external drive and not as an internal pool.B on a Synology NAS is not so easy possible... The NAS recognises it as an external drive, and not as an internal pool or like if you connect it as an extension via DX517 for example... So it would be easy possible... But here just my hint, if you connect it to a Syno...

The hard drives are formatted when the RAID is created! (So be careful) As far as I know, this is also stated in the operating instructions.
