Hello everyone My PC is not Windows 11 capable, reports the corresponding system test! Now I have decided to replace only the CPU processor because I think the other components are ok. CPU previously Intel Core i7 6700 CPU (LGA 1151, 3.40GHz) CPU new Intel Core i7-13700F - LGA 1700, 3.40 GHz, 16-core I am unsure about the compatibility of the mainboard with the new processor. Here is a list of today's installation: Mainboard AsusTek G10457_Z170-PRO-GAMING CPU Processor Intel Core i7 6700 CPU (LGA 1151, 3.40GHz) Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 HyperX Fury memory (2x, 8 GB, DDR4-2133, DIMM 288) Can anyone tell me if my solution will work? Thank you very much for your feedback Hans Ulrich

Helpful answer
No, this will not work, your Z170 mainboard does not support this processor. You can only install 6th and 7th generation Intel processors on your mainboard, 8th generation and newer need a different board. Conclusion: In addition to this processor, you need at least one new mainboard with suitable RAM.

Addendum: LGA refers to the processor socket. The old one is 1151, but the new processor needs LGA 1700.
You will therefore have to buy a new mainboard with LGA 1700. This will almost certainly require new RAM, as the old ones will hardly be compatible.
The graphics card is relatively old. Which doesn't matter unless you want to play games.
