The categories refer primarily to the cable and not to the connector as such. CAT 6a is already designed for 10 Gbit and is completely sufficient to operate the AP. I have had good experiences with the slim patch cables from Wirewin.

I used Cat 6, but probably the higher the cat the better. I have perfectly acceptable performance. Very good product.
