a good choice away from Samsung :p
but to your question yes the device is equipped with GPS, hotspot are never bound to the mobile phone. a hotspot from an Apple mobile would also work.

Good evening, I haven't tried the access point yet, but I think I have as they have the same basic software. I haven't seen the gps application but I think you can install it.
