Hello, I would like to buy the following memory expansion? https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/kingston-value-ram-1x-8gb-ddr3l-1600-sodimm-204-ram-770781 I need the memory for a Dell Inspiron 17R 5720 laptop. This is the original memory. https://www.dell.com/de-de/shop/dell-arbeitsspeicher-upgrade-2gb-1rx16-ddr3l-sodimm-1600mhz/apd/a7568815/arbeitsspeicher Is this memory compatible with Kingston memory from Digitec, see link above with my laptop ? The following memory configuration is allowed according to the manual. see below. I just don't understand Maximum memory is 4GB and memory configurations are up to 8GB. Is it now possible to use an 8 GB RAM bar? Many thanks Best regards Tom Liebau Excerpt from the manual Memory Connectors two internally-accessible DDR3 SODIMM sockets Capacities 2 GB and 4 GB Minimum memory 2 GB Maximum memory 4 GB Memory type 1333/1600 MHz DDR3 SODIMM Memory configurations supported 2 GB, 4 GB, 6 GB, and 8 GB

Helpful answer

Hello, a total of 8 GB is supported, divided between two sockets. That means a maximum of one 4 GB RAM per socket.

Hello, thank you very much for your info. Then the only question would be whether this RAM would fit? Kingston Value RAM (1x, 4GB, DDR3L-1600 (PC3-12800), SODIMM 204)

DELL recommends this RAM module. Unfortunately they only have 2GB.

I compared the specs, but I'm not 100% sure if the Kingston RAM from Digitech will work. Should actually.

Can you perhaps help me further in this regard?

Best thanks
