Hello together I received my mainboard today. So far so good. I also got a new processor (Ryzen 7 7800 X3D). I then read that the bios should be flashed to the latest version so that the CPU is recognised. Now I have formatted a USB stick 16 GB, Fat 32 and copied the file over. The file was renamed to MSI.ROM. All is well and good. Mainboard connected with 24pin and cpu plug, usb plugged in, flash button pressed, stick flashes for about 5 seconds then lights up permanently. I noticed that the CPU and RAM debug LEDs light up. The BIOS cannot be flashed. Hope for good advice. Many thanks

The motherboard probably already has the latest stable version of the BIOS (7E12v14 published on 14 August 2023). Maybe that's why the BIOS doesn't update on your system (but I'm not an expert). I received my motherboard in December 2023 with the same processor and it did have the latest version. This is displayed as v140 once in the BIOS if I remember correctly.
I booted the motherboard without flashing the BIOS first because I was confident enough that it had the latest version given its date of manufacture. This can be determined by the serial number (S/N) of the motherboard. It is normally on a sticker on the box with the format 601-xxxx-xxxSBxxxx. Not always SB but always 3-4 numbers then one or two letters. After these letters is the date of manufacture in YYMM format, so if it's 2309 then it was manufactured on 09/2023. Typically when a new BIOS is released, it takes about 30 days for it to be applied in production. Mine dates from November 2023, so well after the last BIOS was published in August.

I had the same problem, I waited 1 hour and nothing happened. I also tried with 1 ram bar and another ram, as well as with another GPU, nothing helped.
MSI has its own bios update page, so I sent it in. They flashed it for 25 euros - now it works.

I have exactly the same setup (MoBo & CPU) and did not have to perform a bios update, CPU was recognised. Start the PC normally and wait a minute, the MoBo takes a little longer to boot (in my case it lights up orange and red at the beginning -> after a certain time everything boots up correctly).
