Hello. What is the difference with this item number 57996239 which has a different price? And what does "retail" mean? Besides there are 3 different WD SN7100 2Tb ssd. 3 different names and 3 very different prices even though they seem to be 3 of the same model...!

Since this question overlaps with the following, I have taken the liberty of copying the answer, which is the same, into here:

-Answer:
I was able to do some research and the differences are as follows:

- The following is the SN7100, which has PCIe Gen4 and is therefore about half as fast as the other two:
- WD Black SN7100 powered by SANDISK (2000 GB, M.2 2280)

- Below are the two Gen5 SN8100s. Both models are technically the same product. The manufacturer number differences can indicate the different packaging or different markets. "Retail" in this sense refers only to the outer packaging and sometimes with a longer warranty than "Bulk", which is the counterpart without nice packaging and a shorter warranty. Both SSDs look like "Retail" models according to the manufacturer numbers:

- SANDISK WD BLACK SN8100 NVMe SSD 2TB Retail (2000 GB, M.2 2280)
- WD Black SN8100 powered by SANDISK (2000 GB, M.2 2280)

There are actually different "versions" of the same product from the manufacturer, so they are offered differently.
