I already have a DS218 play and would like to buy another DS220j due to lack of space, for example, to store my photos there.
Do the two Diskstations somehow get in each other's way or is that not a problem if I want to access both devices?

Hello and no, they do not get in each other's way (unless you configure both with the same IP address and name). I have 3 in use myself... There is simply one (or 2) more in the network environment...
