No SIM required, can be located at any distance, even out of Bluetooth range, only for Samsung smartphones

There's no need for a SIM card, it's all the Samsung phones that are in the Smart Tag environment that will give the position and then it's Bluetooth that will give the precise position. There are A232 batteries that need changing every 10 to 12 months.

If you already own a Samsung Smartphone you don't need anything. You can pair it on your phone using SmartThings App, that comes pre-installed with all new Samsung Smartphones. No subscription needed. No SIM (it only uses Bluetooth). 
Possible costs: You might want to buy a protective case to protect it against scratches, if you are into that.
