How high is the power consumption during operation? I plan to use a Yallo 5G sim card in it and cancel my overpriced UPC subscription. Are there "better" 5G routers for indoor use? Thanks
I switched from a 4G Asus LTE router to this Zyxel 5G. I have been completely thrilled with it for over half a year now. Top speed; reliability without reproach. I can only recommend it. I can't say anything about the consumption - I've never measured it.
Hello Nils
First of all: I sold the Zyxel again.
Power consumption: I can't say anything about that. It didn't play a role for me in that sense.
However, I am happy to share my thoughts on the performance of the speed.
I started my journey with the TP Link Archer. It can only handle 4G. Didn't have any problems with it.
Then I bought a 5G mobile phone and did some speed tests as a joke. The speed was faster than with 4G. That's why I bought the Zyxel.
Unfortunately, there was a change in the subscription at the same time.
The problem was that the internet was always there, but most of the time you had to wait for ages or it was much faster to reload the page. On YouTube, there was always an hourglass after a commercial. As if someone was on the line. It was strange, because the speed test was great, but I always had to wait first.
So I got out the old router and tadaa.... All problems gone.
You could try a 5G FritzBox.
It's also known for its very low power consumption.
Note: I no longer had external access to the NAS via mobile. I have a Synology and had to activate the Quickconnect function to get it to work again. The reason for this is that the IP addresses of the mobile providers are not valid.
I hope that I was able to help.
Greetings Roger
