How is the 10Gbit connection? You read again and again that Aquantia has problems and is "cheap". Poor performance far from 10 Gbit/s (even with correct cabling), dropped connections, thermal problems. That's what I've already heard. An upgrade board for 10 GbE is supposed to be much faster and more stable. Has anyone tried the board with the 10 Gbps Salt Internet?
I don't have that board, but I have a Z390 ASrock ultimate. It has the same 10GBe chip, AQC107. Together with Salt Fiber, it works perfectly here, tested for over 15 minutes with full throughput. However, I took off the whole plastic cover, which I think should not be a problem if the case is well ventilated. From the website, however, hardly/not at all a site delivers the 10Gbit, unless you have rented your own server.
Maybe it's a question of the Gigabyte drivers? Aquantia also has drivers for this. By the way, there is a firmware update for the AQC107 chip, google it.

Hi Waudiz, from my experience with the board, it is indeed the case that the Gbit connection from aquantia is simply bad. It doesn't work properly, the drivers are difficult to install, etc. In my case, I don't even use the 10 Gbit connection. It's a shame, because I'm otherwise very satisfied with the board.
So far I have fewer issues with the Aquantia chip than with an X540-DP card. It peaks at 7.5 gbit/s, but my file server does not allow more. The bottleneck here is the server's storage subsystem and not the client's Aquantia chip. Operated on a Mikrotik CRS-317 switch with corresponding 10GBaseT SFP+ module. No problems so far.
