I am looking for a compact, QUIET CPU cooler for my multimedia PC with LGA1851. Unfortunately, the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC is too big. Is the cooling capacity of the Noctua NH-L9x65 sufficient and is it really quiet? Many thanks for honest answers.

Helpful answer

I mounted it on a good performance processor from a few years ago, still perfectly functional; it does its job and is quiet

The Noctua NH-L9x65 chromax.black is a good option for a compact and quiet CPU cooler, especially if the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC is too large.

### Cooling performance
- The NH-L9x65 chromax.black offers solid cooling performance that is sufficient for most applications, including multimedia PCs. However, it is not as powerful as the NH-D15 G2 HBC as it has a more compact design and fewer heatpipes.

### Volume
- The NH-L9x65 chromax.black is known for its quiet operating noise. It comes with a 92mm fan that has a 4-pin PWM connection, which enables precise speed regulation and thus reduced noise.

### Compatibility
- The cooler is compatible with the LGA1851 socket, which fulfils your requirements.

### Additional information
- The cooler has a height of 65 mm (with fan) and 100% RAM compatibility, which means that it does not overhang the RAM slots and therefore does not cause any compatibility problems with the memory modules.

Overall, the Noctua NH-L9x65 chromax.black is a good choice if you are looking for a compact and quiet CPU cooler that is compatible with your LGA1851 socket.
