If I connect the part via this port, my computer cannot read out the fan speed. Which makes the whole thing a bit useless.

4 pin fans should be controllable. However, only all connected at the same rpm. 3 pin fans give no feedback and in my case they simply rotated to max rpm.... I connected an adapter to 5V for the fans connected to the hub. This way they all rotate constantly at approx. 750rpm. However, only useful for fans that cool passively...
