I don't understand. The PoE adapter itself is powered by a 230 V cable. So I save myself zero cabling. Please explain.

That is true.
But you only need one LAN cable to the device.
This means you can use the device approx. 90 metres away from a power socket.

The point is not simply to save on cabling, but to be able to place the access points flexibly on the wall/ceiling with just one cable, regardless of the location of the nearest power connection.
