I have a ssd 980 pro 1tb where my operating system is on it, does the ssd on the board go in the top slot, closest to the cpu? thank you for your answers

The uppermost one has the CPU PCIe lanes, which should offer better performance, whereas the others have Chipset lanes. The uppermost one also has a better thermal guard.
So I would use that one if I can, which I in fact do use without issues.
