I have already installed 2x16GB ( CMH32GX5M2B6400C32) on an Asus Strix ROG B650E E. Now I would like to expand by a further 2x16GB to a total of 64GB. Is this possible on this board with this RAM configuration? Greetings and thanks Mike
It could work. But if you want to overclock the RAM (via XMP/EXPO), that could possibly be a problem:
- The bars here are XMP, i.e. Intel-certified, but you have an AMD board.
- If you buy 2x16GB again, you might not really have the exact same model - production site, even manufacturer could be different (Corsair does not make the bars themselves as far as I know). The two different kits could then possibly behave differently with OC and the system would then not run stably.
The above _could_ possibly be a problem without OC, but maybe not.
If you get blue screens, this could indicate unstable RAM.
In general, the board should be fine. It supports up to 128 GB DDR5, 6400 Mhz (but probably only with EXPO).
Thanks for the explanation
